WWE Smackdown: Street Profits Win Tables, Ladders & Chairs Match
The best tag teams on Smackdown were left out of WrestleMania 41, but they put on their own show last night.
The Street Profits retained the WWE tag team title by outlasting #DIY and Motor City Machine Guns in a TLC (Tables, Ladders & Chairs) match.
The match ended with Montez Ford winning a three-way battle at the top of the ladder with Chris Sabin and Johnny Gargano.
Ford scaled the side of the ladder and grabbed the belts for the Profits.
WHO’S A DADDY?
Randy Orton and John Cena started the show with a long verbal battle. Orton said Cena should improve his attitude by becoming a father, and Cena countered that he’s been raising the WWE fans’ kids for 25 years.
Cena challenged Orton to come after his WWE championship at Backlash in Orton’s hometown of St. Louis on May 10.
NEW TEAM, NEW CHAMP
Nathan Frazier & Axiom debuted on Smackdown after winning the NXT tag team championship twice. “Fraxiom” defeated Los Garza in a high-flying match.
Zelina Vega upset Chelsea Green to win the women’s U.S. championship. Vega won the match with a Code Red (high-speed sunset flip).
Vega’s husband, Aleister Black, returned to WWE in the next segment and attacked The Miz. Like Rusev on Monday Night Raw, Black resurfaced after a long tenure in AEW.
INTERRUPTED BATTLES
Jade Cargill faced WWE women’s champion Tiffany Stratton in a non-title match. Naomi attacked Cargill to cause Stratton to lose by disqualification. Nia Jax then attacked Stratton.
Drew McIntyre fought LA Knight to determine the top contender to Jacob Fatu’s US title. Damien Priest attacked McIntyre to cause Knight to lose by DQ.
