WWE Smackdown: Naomi, Andrade Qualify for Money in the Bank
Bianca Belair opened WWE Smackdown in her hometown of Knoxville. She sang “Rocky Top” with her fellow Tennessee natives.
Naomi came out and apologized for turning against Bianca. Of course, her tears were fake. Jade Cargill did what she does best: storm to the ring and attack Naomi.
This led to a Money in the Bank qualifying match, with Nia Jax involved as well. Jax stacked both opponents and tried the Annihilator sitdown splash.
Naomi moved, so Cargill got squashed. Then Naomi rolled up Jax for the pin.
Naomi joined Alexa Bliss, Giulia, Rhea Ripley, and Roxanne Perez in next Saturday’s ladder match.
The final spot will be determined on Raw, with Stephanie Vaquer vs. Ivy Nile vs. Liv Morgan.
ANDRADE QUALIFIES
Andrade grabbed a spot in Money in the Bank by winning his qualifier against Jacob Fatu and Carmelo Hayes.
Solo Sikoa tried to help Fatu without success, and Fatu may be breaking away from Bloodline 3.0.
Andrade joins the men’s ladder match with Sikoa, Penta, LA Knight, and Seth Rollins.
The final spot will be determined on Monday, with AJ Styles vs. CM Punk vs. El Grande Americano.
(Fun fact: I announced a lot of Styles and Punk matches in Ring of Honor and Pittsburgh’s IWC promotion. Here they are facing each other.)
OTHER ACTION
JC Mateo, who is loyal to Sikoa, defeated R-Truth with the Tour of the Islands powerslam.
US women’s champion Zelina Vega beat Alba Fyre with the Code Red sunset flip.
Angel & Berto defeated Je’Von Evans & Rey Fenix. They will all compete on the WWE-AAA Worlds Collide show on Saturday afternoon.
Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso closed the show about their upcoming match with John Cena and Logan Paul at Money in the Bank. Rhodes and Uso won a quick brawl to end the program.
