Giulia made her name in Japan, but she had to travel to Saudi Arabia to win the United States championship.

She defeated Zelina Vega to become the third holder of the women’s US title on Friday in Riyadh.

Vega missed a moonsault, allowing Giulia to hit the Northern Lights Bomb for the win.

Giulia started the year in a logjam at NXT with other rising stars like Stephanie Vaquer and Jordynne Grace, but winning the title should help her become a bigger star.

BASIC PUNKANOMICS

John Cena ripped off CM Punk’s “Pipebomb” promo last week, but Punk struck back on Smackdown.

Punk came out to Cena’s old rap theme song, “Basic Thuganomics.” He wore a No. 13 Chicago Cubs throwback jersey (Turk Wendell?).

After comparing Cena unfavorably to The Undertaker and Hulk Hogan, Punk said he would be Kendrick Lamar and John Cena would be his Drake.

TALK OF ROYALTY

Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton talked about their King of the Ring finals match today at Night of Champions, which starts at 1 p.m. Eastern.

Remember, Orton used to lead the Legacy faction in WWE, which included Rhodes and Ted DiBiase Jr.

Jade Cargill and Asuka discussed the Queen of the Ring final, but Naomi interrupted. She said that she held the power as Ms. Money in the Bank

TAG TEAM WARS

Johnny Gargano & Tomasso Ciampa (#DIY) tried to take the lead in the Smackdown tag teams’ war against The Wyatt Sicks. However, #DIY lost to the makeshift team of Andrade & Rey Fenix.

The Street Profits defended the WWE tag team title against the Wyatts, but it ended in a no-contest as #DIY, Los Garza, Motor City Machine Guns, and Fraxiom all got involved.

OTHER ACTION

JC Mateo defeated Jimmy Uso in the opening bout. Solo Sikoa distracted Uso, allowing Mateo to win with the Tour of the Islands powerslam.

Ron “R-Truth” Killings tried to call out John Cena for a fight, but Aleister Black attacked him instead.

The main event was a Last Woman Standing match to end the war between WWE women’s champion Tiffany Stratton and Nia Jax.

Naomi tried to cash in the Money in the Bank briefcase during the match, but Stratton used it to knock Jax through a pair of tables for the 10-count to retain the championship.
