WWE NXT: Myles Borne Sets Example for Kids with Disabilities
Myles Borne was the surprise winner of last week’s battle royale for an NXT title shot, and he opened up last night about his hearing disability.
Borne discussed his partial deafness and how it affects his speech. However, Borne said he wants to be known for his abilities.
“That is what everyone with a disability wants to be judged by,” Borne said.
Ethan Page interrupted and challenged Borne to put the title shot on the line later in the show. Borne accepted and won the match, so he will face Oba Femi at Battleground in Tampa, Fla., on May 25.
Charlie Dempsey, Borne’s teammate in No Quarter Catch Crew, lost a non-title match against Femi. The champion won with the Fall From Grace powerbomb.
NO FUN FOR THE DON
Tony D’Angelo had a rough night. He lost to Wes Lee after Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo appeared on the screen and threatened to hurt Adrianna Rizzo.
D’Angelo drove to a “safe house” to save Rizzo, only to take a beating from Stacks. They will face off at Battleground.
Tatum Paxley is upset that her partner Gigi Dolin lost her job. Paxley lost to Thea Hail by disqualification after poking Hail in the eye.
CONTRACT SIGNING
It’s still strange to have the TNA championship be a part of WWE. Joe Hendry and Trick Williams signed the contract for their Battleground match for Hendry’s TNA title.
Next week’s show will feature these opponents in a concert, with Hendry singing and Williams rapping.
Jordynne Grace teamed with NXT women’s champion Stephanie Vaquer to defeat Fatal Influence (Fallon Henley & Jacy Jayne) in the main event.
Vaquer will defend her title against Grace at Battleground.
