WWE NXT: It’s a Great Week to be Kelani Jordan
Kelani Jordan is enjoying success in and out of the ring.
She announced her engagement to Smackdown wrestler Carmelo Hayes over the weekend.
Last night on NXT, Jordan scored a victory over Lainey Reid with the “One of a Kind” split-legged moonsault.
In addition, NXT General Manager Ava chose Jordan to participate in the Evolution battle royale on Sunday.
Ava also picked Jaida Parker, Lash Legend, Izzi Dame, Tatum Paxley, and Lola Vice.
After the announcement, the ring filled with women for a giant brawl, as if they couldn’t wait for Sunday.
RUN THE GAUNTLET
Ricky Saints opened the show by winning a gauntlet match over The Vanity Project. Saints defeated Brad Baylor, then Ricky Smokes, and finally Jackson Drake.
As a result, Saints got to choose the stipulation for his match against North American champion Ethan Page at this Saturday’s Great American Bash. Saints picked a Falls Count Anywhere match.
The rest of the Bash card looks like this:
· Blake Monroe & Jordynne Grace vs. Fallon Henley & Jacy Jayne
· Je’Von Evans vs. Jasper Troy
· Women’s North American champion Sol Ruca vs. Izzi Dame
· NXT champion Oba Femi vs. Yoshiki Inamura
WWE didn’t do these wrestlers any favors by putting this show head-to-head against AEW’s All In Texas pay-per-view this Saturday afternoon.
FAMILY BUSINESS
The No Quarter Catch Crew did battle as Charlie Dempsey defeated Tavion Heights when Wren Sinclair threw in the towel. That means Heights isn’t allowed to leave the Crew.
The D’Angelo Family will settle their differences at the Bash. Tony D’Angelo will face Luca Crusifino and Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo in a “final battle” Triple Threat match.
TRICK’S CHALLENGERS
TNA wrestlers Joe Hendry and Mike Santana teamed up to beat the High Ryze duo of Tyriek Igwe & Tyson Dupont.
Trick Williams attacked Hendry and Santana after the match, as they will have a Triple Threat match for Trick’s TNA title at the Slammiversary pay-per-view on July 20.
Hank Walker & Tank Ledger retained the NXT tag team title with a win over The Culling (Shawn Spears & Niko Vance).
