Wings Surrender Game Winner In 88-85 Loss To Atlanta Dream
ARLINGTON, TX – Tonight was the first time this season that we got to see what the Dallas Wings would do in a drawn-up play attempting to send the game to overtime.
Down by three with two seconds left, Wings head coach Chris Koclanes got the ball into the hands of Paige Bueckers.
The Wings’ superstar point guard fired up a contested three-pointer that fell just short, just as the team did tonight.
Dallas dropped a close one, 88-85, against the Atlanta Dream as they fell just short of their second straight win.
For much of the night, the Wings trailed and eventually battled back to tie it and even take the lead in the 4th quarter before their comeback bid fell short.
Bueckers led the way for the Wings, scoring 21 points and dropping 7 dimes. Fellow rookie Luisa Geiselsöder followed with 13.
Haley Jones scored 12 points, including a 38-foot bomb at the end of the shot clock for a huge shot late in the 4th quarter.
Arike Ogunbowale followed up a strong night on Monday with just 12 points and 2 assists.
The Wings close out this four-game home stand on Friday at the American Airlines Center in a highly anticipated rematch with the Indiana Fever
