Wings Get Back Bueckers, Lose Harris For Season

On Tuesday afternoon, the Dallas Wings got some clarity on their point guard position before the team departs for their Wednesday night contest against the Phoenix Mercury.

After going their last four games without a traditional point guard, the Wings finally got news on both Paige Bueckers and Ty Harris.

Bueckers will return to the lineup on Wednesday night after missing the last four games with both a concussion and an illness.

Prior to her injury, Bueckers was averaging 14.7 points, 4.5 rebounds, 6.7 assists, 2 steals, and a block through the first six games of her career.

β€œShe just makes everybody better,” Wings head coach Chris Koclanes said when talking about Bueckers after practice on Tuesday.

Not all the news Dallas got today was positive, and unfortunately, some bad news rained down pertaining to backup PG Ty Harris.

The team announced that Harris will miss the rest of the season after undergoing knee surgery performed by Dr. Tariq Hendawi at Trinity Park Surgical Center in Arlington on Tuesday.

Harris returned to the Wings this offseason after she was drafted by Dallas seventh overall in 2020.

In five games this season, Harris averaged 4.6 points, 1.0 rebounds, and 2.6 assists, highlighted by a 10-point outing at the Atlanta Dream on May 24.
