Wings Exercise 4th Year Option On Forward Maddy Seigrist
With less than ten days to go until the 2025 WNBA season tips off, the Dallas Wings have made a move to keep one of their only three returning players around for another season.
On Wednesday afternoon, the Wings announced they have exercised the fourth-year option on forward Maddy Seigrist’s contract.
“We are excited about exercising Maddy’s fourth-year contract option,” said Dallas Wings Executive Vice President and General Manager Curt Miller.
“She is a big piece of the Wings future, has worked hard at her game, and is poised to have an impressive year. Her versatility to play multiple positions gives our team valuable flexibility within our roster.”
Despite being limited to 27 games last season due to injury, Seigrist displayed some of the biggest improvements across the entire WNBA.
After putting up 3.7 points per contest in her rookie season, Seigrist jumped all the way up to 9.4 in 2024.
Seigrist also at least doubled her per-game totals in rebounds, assists, steals, and blocks in a campaign that, if fully played out, could have potentially earned her the league’s most improved player award.
Flashing forward to 2025, Seigrist will be a key part of a nearly entirely new Dallas Wings roster under first-year head coach Chris Koclanes.
Dallas will have its final preseason contest this Friday at the College Park Center in Arlington, where they will take on the Japanese League’s Toyota Antelopes.
On May 16th, the Wings will tip off their 10th season in the DFW metroplex when they take on the Minnesota Lynx at the CPC.
