WATCH: Victor Perez Had A BEAUTIFUL ACE At The US Open

The US Open started this past Thursday, with golf fans from all walks of life flocking to the Oakmont Country Club in Oakmont, PA to watch the best golfers in the world compete for the coveted United States Open Championship Trophy. It is a big moment, as this is the third major of the year to be played on the PGA schedule.

But it became even bigger when Victor Perez landed this absolute BEAUT on the 6th hole in the second round of the tournament;

WHAT. A. SHOT! Perez, who was +3 on the tournament heading into the 200 yd Par 3, hit an absolute DART towards the flagstick that was placed towards the left side of the green. He attacked the second-shortest hole on the property head on, securing himself a score of +1 heading into the rest of his round.

It was something that really got the excitement brewing throughout the 120+ year old golf course, as fans across the land cheered for the 55th hole in one in tournament history. But above all else, the thing that may have capped off the entire moment……was the chest bump at the end.

That, my friends……was a thing of BEAUTY! Not only did Victor Perez steal the spotlight in that one legendary moment, but he and his caddie capped it off with the most incredible chest bump you will ever see. It was a sight to behold. The height? The angle? The fact that they hit it so crisp, to the point where a picture of it could be hung up in the Louvre?

Absolutely SPECTACULAR! It was a moment that really set the vibes for the rest of the round. But the question is…..will Victor’s performance see an up-tick as the event progresses, and will he be in the running for the championship come Sunday?

The best answer……is probably not. In his 11-year career, the 32-year old from France hasn’t won a single tournament. Sure; he has two third place finishes, four top five, and seven top ten. But if you look at his entire body work, and add in the fact that Oakmont has been absolute HELL for all of the participants of this year’s US Open……this just seems like a mountain that’s too high for Perez to climb.

Sure, he’s currently tied for sixth as of writing this. But with his odds sitting at +5000, it’s safe to say that he’s not the best bet in the end.

But what do I know? I’m just a guy from the Midwest, with a beer and a laptop, trying to make sense of this world.
