Trick Williams Captures TNA Championship at NXT Battleground

Total Nonstop Action (TNA) Wrestling emerged in 2002 as the top distant challenger to WWE after the demise of WCW and ECW one year earlier.

After changing its name to Impact Wrestling and then back to TNA, the company is still going. It has formed a partnership with WWE.

Last night on NXT Battleground, Trick Williams made history as the first WWE wrestler to win the TNA championship. He defeated Joe Hendry in the main event.

Williams won by ramming Hendry into the title belt before hitting the Trick Shot knee strike.
