Top QBs in the Pac-12 for the 2025 College Football Season

The 2025 college football season is two months away and teams are beginning to round into form.

This includes the quarterback position, which remains the most important on the field regardless of conference. For one more year, there will be just two teams in the Pac-12 before others join but there will be plenty of talent under center.

Below, check out top quarterbacks in the Pac-12 this season.

2. Zevi Eckhaus, Washington State

Eckhaus seems like the main option to replace John Mateer under center in 2025. Mateer entered the transfer portal and landed at Oklahoma. Eckhaus is a graduate transfer from Bryant who played in three games last season. He got the chance to start the Holiday Bowl at the end of the year. Washington State brought in two transfer quarterbacks as well in Ajani Sheppard from Rutgers and Pitt’s Julian Dugger. Eckhaus has the most experience and seems like the frontrunner here.

1. Maalik Murphy, Oregon State

Murphy was one of the biggest targets in the transfer portal this offseason. He began his career at Texas before becoming a stand out for Duke in 2024. Murphy totaled 2,933 passing yards with 26 touchdowns and 12 interceptions. He completed 60.3% of his passes as well. Murphy uses his legs to extend plays but is comfortable in the pocket. He has the arm talent to take the next step, making him a coveted recruit and big get for the Beavers.
