Tigers Call Up LEGENDARY Looking Human, Drew Sommers
It was a big day for Tigers fans, as one of their most polarizing prospects was called up the other day. Sure, he might not be the “top dog” in their farm system. But when you see this human…..his face just SCREAMS “I’m a ball player.” His entire “aura” (as the kids like to call it) just makes me think that he can shut guys down every outing, all while toking on a cig in the process.
This person, my friends……is Drew Sommers.

First off, before we even get into talking about the 250 lb. lefty……let’s just admire this photo of him. If I didn’t know any better, I would’ve guessed that this was a Beer Softball League MVP photo. I would’ve guessed that he was about to resurface my driveway before heading out to his company’s charity softball game.
But in regards to his pitching prowess…..he’s not a bad arm out of the pen. The Central Arizona College prospect has been a rather promising talent in the minors, posting a stat-line through three seasons consisting of;
154 IP, 3.10 ERA, 141 H, 194 SO, 1.214 WHIP
He has also excelled in other advanced metrics as well; including opp. batting average (.195), K% (29.7%), and Chase% (29.76%), among others. His ability to keep the ball on the ground has been his calling card throughout his young career, as the 25-year old has racked up a huge amount of ground ball outs during his time out of college.

But above all else…..this guy has just looked good doing it. He looks like an old school ballplayer, who just played the game on the side while running a successful BBQ restaurant. He looks like a genuine human being, who owns arguably one of the best tree trimming businesses in the entire county.
Simply put; if this guy does not succeed in the Majors, I am going to be extremely shocked. The large lefty has shown that he has a promising future ahead of him. He has been under the radar a bit after he was drafted in the 11th round by the Tampa Bay Rays. Not only that; the thought of a Cubs fan (me) being excited about a Detroit Tigers prospect is wild in itself.
However, after getting one look at this guy…..it’s hard not to be a fan. Drew Sommers is baseball to a T, and I truly hope he ends up with my Cubs at some point. Just for the vibes.
But in the end, as always….what do I know? I’m just a guy from the Midwest, with a beer and a laptop, trying to make sense of this world.
