On Tuesday May 13th, 2025, at 7 pm eastern time, the Eastern Conference top seed Cleveland Cavaliers hosted the fourth seed Indiana Pacers for game five of their Eastern Conference Semi Finals Series at the Rocket Arena in downtown Cleveland Ohio. The Cavaliers find themselves down 3-1 in the series after suffering a blow out loss last Sunday in Indiana 129-109. Donovan Mitchell was listed as questionable for the Cavaliers after reaggravating his ankle injury. Mitchell did play in this game. Out for Indiana was Isaiah Jackson with an Achilles injury. The Cavaliers were trying to avoid being eliminated on their home court and wanted to take the series back to Indiana for game six on Thursday night.

In the first quarter the Cavaliers showed up ready to play and led the Pacers at the end of the opening quarter 31-19. In the second quarter the Pacers came back and chipped away at the Cavaliers lead. Despite that the Cavaliers led the Pacers at halftime 56-52. In the third quarter the Pacers took over the game and took the lead. And after three quarters of play the Pacers led the Cavaliers 85-76. In the fourth and final quarter the Cavaliers tried to claw back into the game. But the rally fell short and the Cavaliers lost the game 114-105 and lost the playoff series 4-1. The 2024 / 2025 Cleveland Cavaliers season has now come to an end.

The Cavaliers’ leading scorer was Donovan Mitchell with 35 points in 38 minutes. Evan Mobley had another double-double with 24 points and 11 rebounds in 37 minutes of play. The Indiana Pacers will advance to the Eastern Conference Finals. And the Cleveland Cavaliers will regroup and reassess their team, organization and roster. With the offseason to figure out what went wrong in the 2025 post season, the new season and new hope for the Cleveland Cavaliers will begin next October.
