Mr. T was so successful in the main event of the first WrestleMania that he came back for Round 2.

Rowdy Roddy Piper faced Mr. T in a boxing match at WrestleMania 2. So, on the Saturday Night’s Main Event leading up to that show, we got a preview of what Mr. T could do as a boxer.

Of course, Mr. T played Clubber Lang in Rocky 3, and he was pretty tough to beat!

EPISODE FIVE

Mr. T defeated Piper’s bodyguard, “Battling” Bob Orton, by countout in a boxing match. Piper whipped Mr. T with a belt after the match.

King Kong Bundy squashed Steve Gatorwolf and pinned him with a five-count. Bundy would challenge World Wrestling Federation champion Hulk Hogan in a cage match at WrestleMania 2.

Speaking of the Hulkster, he successfully defended the WWF title with a win over Magnificent Muraco. Bundy attacked the champ after the match and injured his ribs with a series of splashes.

The Dream Team of Greg “The Hammer” Valentine & Brutus Beefcake beat the British Bulldogs to retain the WWF tag team titles. The Bulldogs won the belts in a rematch at WrestleMania 2.

Junkyard Dog beat “Adorable” Adrian Adonis in the final match when Jimmy Hart’s interference backfired.

EPISODE SIX

Hogan and JYD opened the show with a win over Terry & Hoss Funk. Hoss was Dory Funk Jr., and the Funks are still the only brothers to win a World championship.

Bundy, who had lost to Hogan at WrestleMania 2, defeated Uncle Elmer in a battle of super heavyweights.

Adrian Adonis defeated “Mr. Wonderful” Paul Orndorff by disqualification. Later in the year, Orndorff would turn against Hogan to kick off a feud that made a lot of money.

Jake “The Snake” Roberts was supposed to wrestle Ricky Steamboat. However, Roberts attacked “The Dragon” before the bell and gave him a DDT on the floor. Roberts draped his snake, Damien, onto Steamboat’s body.

The British Bulldogs retained the WWF tag team title, defeating former champions Nikolai Volkoff & The Iron Sheik two falls to one.
