Rockies Power Past Twins 10–6 to Clinch First Home Series Win of 2025

For the first time all season, the Colorado Rockies have won a series at home.

Behind a relentless offensive onslaught and a rare quality start from Antonio Senzatela, the Rockies defeated the Minnesota Twins 10–6 on Saturday night at Coors Field. The win marks Colorado’s first home series victory of the 2025 campaign and gives them back-to-back wins coming out of the All-Star break—something that’s been a challenge all year.

Ezequiel Tovar and Hunter Goodman each launched three-run home runs to headline a 15-hit attack for the Rockies, who scored in seven of nine innings and controlled the game despite a brief rain delay.

The Twins got on the board early against Senzatela, who gave up three runs in the second inning. Kody Clemens tripled home a run, Carlos Correa doubled in another, and Matt Wallner followed with an RBI single to give Minnesota a 3–0 lead.

But the Rockies struck back immediately. Ryan Ritter’s RBI double in the bottom of the second cut into the deficit, and Ryan McMahon continued his recent hot streak with a two-run homer in the third to tie the game.

Senzatela, who had struggled in the first half of the season to the tune of a 3–13 record entering the game, turned in one of his better outings of the year. He allowed three runs across seven innings, scattering six hits and striking out three while walking one.

It wasn’t flashy, but it was efficient—exactly what the Rockies needed as they tried to protect their lead.

Senzatela retired the final seven batters he faced before giving way to the bullpen in the eighth. Though Minnesota mounted a brief rally—scoring twice on another RBI double from Clemens to make it 8–5—Colorado answered right back.

With two on and two out in the bottom of the eighth, Goodman unloaded on a breaking ball and sent it 426 feet into the left-field bleachers. His 18th home run of the season pushed the lead to 10–5 and capped a huge night for the 24-year-old slugger.

Minnesota would add one more in the ninth, but it wasn’t nearly enough.

While Tovar and Goodman provided the biggest swings of the night, nearly every Rockies hitter contributed. McMahon finished 1-for-4 with two RBIs and his 15th homer. Ritter and Tyler Freeman each doubled and scored while Tovar went 3-for-4.

The Rockies go for the sweep on Sunday with German Marquez on the hill.
