Rockets Sign Josh Okogie To One Year $3.1 Million Deal
After adding the likes of Kevin Durant, Dorian Finney-Smith, and Clint Capela, the Houston Rockets still were not finished with their offseason.
On Tuesday afternoon, Houston announced that it has signed free agent forward Josh Okogie to a one-year, $3.1 million deal.
Okogie, a seven-year NBA veteran, split time with the Suns and Hornets last season, averaging 7.1 points and 2.8 rebounds per night.
With the trade, Okogie is reunited with his former teammate, Durant, and has a chance to compete for a championship as a key piece of the Rockets second unit.
Reportedly, Okogie turned down multiple other NBA offers to join the Rockets as the 14th man on their roster.
Originally, Okogie was selected 20th overall in the 2018 NBA draft by the Minnesota Timberwolves. He spent four seasons with Minnesota before signing with the Suns in 2022.
