Ring Of Honor World Champion Bandido: Wrestler of the Year?

Bandido opened last night’s Ring Of Honor episode by showing off his ROH World title and the AEW tag team title he holds with Brody King.

Bandido is making a case for Wrestler of the Year. “Timeless” Toni Storm is the only other contender under the AEW-ROH umbrella.

It all started with adversity, when then-ROH champion Chris Jericho unmasked Bandido’s brother, Gravity. Their mother was there, she was crying … it was a traumatic scene.

Bandido put his own mask on the line and defeated Jericho to win his second ROH championship.

He has defended the belt with several outstanding performances, including a win over Konosuke Takeshita at Supercard of Honor.

Bandido also entered the AEW tag team title contenders’ tournament. He and King battled to a 30-minute draw in the final match against FTR.

That allowed both teams to get a title shot at The Hurt Syndicate at Forbidden Door for the AEW World tag team title. Bandido & King won the belts, making Bandido a double champion.

DEATH BEFORE DISHONOR

Bandido will defend the ROH title tonight against Hechicero in the main event of the Death Before Dishonor pay-per-view in Philadelphia.

Lee Moriarity will defend the Pure Rules title against Xelhua from Mexico’s CMLL promotion.

Athena will reach 1,000 days as ROH women’s champion if she can beat Mina Shirakawa.

Actor Paul Walter Hauser will battle QT Marshall in a Fight Without Honor.

Dustin Rhodes’ ROH tag team and six-man titles were vacated due to his double knee surgery. His partners will get a chance to reclaim the titles.

Sammy Guevara will have a mystery partner against The Outrunners for the tag team title.

The Von Erichs will team with Guevara to face Shane Taylor Promotions for the six-man belts.
