Real Madrid knock out Manchester City with a hat-trick from Mbappe

Real Madrid put in an impressive performance in the second leg of their Champions League tie against Manchester City, with Kylian Mbappé shining brightly. The French striker scored a hat-trick, securing a 3-1 victory (6-3 on aggregate) and booking his team’s place in the last 16. To watch the game live, click on Tiro al Palo.

Just four minutes into the game, the French striker showed his full potential, dribbling between centre-backs Stones and Dias, and with Ederson rushing out desperately, he deceived the goalkeeper with a sombrero to score a great goal and make it 1-0 for Real, who had already emerged victorious 3-2 in the first leg in England. However, he still had much more to show.

Half an hour later, the former PSG player scored another incredible goal. It started at the feet of Courtois and went all the way across the pitch: Bellingham opened up for Vinicius, who passed to Rodrygo in the centre, and the Brazilian assisted into the area when he saw the Frenchman cutting in diagonally. Mbappé saw Gvardiola desperately closing in and, with a brilliant turn of the hip, left him standing. There, he finished to make it 2-0.

But Kylian had much more in store: 15 minutes into the second half, he picked up the ball on the edge of the box, performed a bicycle kick that beat the full-back and then shot across goal to make it 3-0.

The Frenchman received a standing ovation from the entire Santiago Bernabéu when he was substituted. Towards the end, Nico González scored a good goal for the visitors, making it 3-1 on the scoreboard.

In a display of absolute authority, Real Madrid beat Manchester City 6-3 on aggregate to reach the knockout stages of the UEFA Champions League.
