Perfect 10: Shawn Spears Wins WWE Gold After Nearly Two Decades
Shawn Spears waited almost two decades and visited the opposing company before finally winning a championship in WWE.
Spears defeated Tony DâAngelo for the NXT North American championship last night.
The 44-year-old made his big-league debut in 2008 on the WWEâs version of ECW under the name Gavin Spears.
He later appeared in NXT as âThe Perfect 10â Tye Dillinger. The fans loved his constant rating of himself as a â10,â and he appeared in the 2017 Royal Rumble.
Using the name Shawn Spears, he competed in the first AEW match in 2019, the Casino Battle Royale at Double or Nothing.
He later feuded with Cody Rhodes and was nicknamed âThe Chairmanâ after busting Cody open with a chair shot.
Today, Spears has a stable of wrestlers following him and the No. 2 championship in NXT.

Jaida Parker defeated Kelani Jordan after the âHipnoticâ hip attack.
Parker then called out the winner of the Giulia-Stephanie Vaquer double title match next week at NXT Roadblock in New York City.
Jordynne Grace defeated Cora Jade when the referee stopped the match due to an injury.
Jade later tweeted that the injury wasnât too serious. Grace will wrestle Roxanne Perez at Roadblock.
