Needing A Boost Garcia Picks Up Rangers Offense With Walk Off Two Run Home Run

It’s been clear that the Texas Rangers offense needed some sort of energy boost, or a shot in the arm, for much of the season.

Fortunately, for the Rangers, they have a walking boost of energy in the form of outfielder Adolis Garcia.

With just two hits entering the 9th inning of Saturday’s game, Garcia launched a walkoff two-run home run to lift Texas past the Los Angeles Dodgers 4-3.

“He plays with passion, emotion, and that’s who he is,” Rangers manager Bruce Bochy said after the game.

Garcia’s walkoff is his 4th career walkoff home run as a Ranger, tying him for the second most in club history.

Not only did he launch himself into the history books, but Garcia also helped lift Bruce Bochy further into baseball history.

With the win, Bochy passed Dusty Baker for the 7th most managerial wins in MLB history with 2,184. He is now 11 wins shy of passing Sparky Anderson for 6th all-time.

One of the key reasons he has been able to climb the leaderboard this season is the strength of the Rangers’ starting pitching.

Once again, a Texas starter delivered a quality start as Nathan Eovaldi went six innings, allowing just three runs while striking out seven.

It was the Rangers bullpen who kept them in this one as Robert Garcia and Jacob Webb combined to throw three one hit innings.

In it’s last six games, the Rangers bullpen boasts a 1.08 ERA and has pitched to the tune of a 2.49 ERA in 12 games at Globe Life Field.

“I think the bullpen has done an extremely good of of coming into big situations and saving runs,” Eovaldi said.

“Without those guys, we don’t win these games”.
