Naomi Steals the Show and the Title at WWE Evolution 2
The women of WWE refused to be put on the back burner last night at Evolution 2 in Atlanta.
Despite getting stuck at the end of an overloaded weekend of wrestling, the ladies turned in a series of tremendous performances.
Naomi emerged as the new World women’s champion after cashing in her Money in the Bank briefcase.
Rhea Ripley was challenging Iyo Sky for the title when Naomi cashed in to make it a Triple Threat match. Seth Rollins was the first to do this at WrestleMania 31 against Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns.
Naomi pulled off her own “Heist of the Century” with a moonsault on Sky to become the new champion.
This was even more impressive considering that Naomi had lost a No Holds Barred match earlier in the night to Jade Cargill, who put her through a table.
CHOOSE YOUR FRIENDS WISELY
Jordynne Grace was concerned about Fatal Influence interfering in her title shot against NXT champion Jacy Jayne.
Grace asked Blake Monroe to watch her back. After all, they had just beaten Fatal Influence one day earlier at the Great American Bash.
Monroe was reluctant to help, but Grace insisted. So what happens? Monroe hits Grace with the belt and causes her to lose!
IC TITLE THREE-WAY
Becky Lynch retained the women’s Intercontinental championship with a win over Lyra Valkyria and Bayley.
Bayley hit the Rose Plant on Lyra, but Becky scored the pin on Bayley.
The Judgment Day (Roxanne Perez & Raquel Rodriguez) retained the WWE women’s tag team title with a win over Sol Ruca & Zaria, Charlotte Flair & Alexa Bliss, and The Kabuki Warriors (Kairi Sane & Asuka).
OFF TO PARIS
Stephanie Vaquer won the battle royale, so she will earn a title shot at the Clash in Paris show in September. Vaquer eliminated Lash Legend for the victory.
Tiffany Stratton defeated Hall of Famer Trish Stratus to retain the WWE women’s championship. Stratton won with the Prettiest Moonsault Ever.
