If I don’t get an Ozzy Trapilo/Ozzy Osbourne t-shirt mashup in the next couple of years, I’m going to be PISSED! Trapilo, who was selected in the second round of the 2025 NFL Draft by the Chicago Bears (No. 56), is poised to become the future of this O-Line. The Big Fella from Boston College, who stands at an astounding 6’8″ and weighs 316 lbs, is ready to make a big impact on this organization.

He’s an angry blocker who’s prepared to play both tackle positions, and who was an absolute DAWG during his time in college.

Ozzy, for those of you who are unaware, played four seasons for Boston College; accumulating 36 starts in 44 games for the Eagles. During his tenure, he was only penalized five times throughout 2,000+ snaps, and only surrendered seven sacks during that same time span. The best part? The big fella only gave up two sacks in the final two years of his collegiate career, earning him an 81.0 pass-blocking grade in 2024.

He is an absolute animal on the offensive line, and someone who has the makings to be a future starter for this organization. He is a gigantic specimen, and someone who can be a major roadblock for opposing pass rushers. He’s an angry and calculated blocker, who knows how to use his frame as an asset, instead of a liability.

Not only that…..the guy is INTELLIGENT! He has been the talk of rookie mini-camps so far this spring, and Clay Harbor during an appearance on 670 The Score’s “Mully & Hugh” said that Ozzy’s former O-Line Coach Matt Applebaum had nothing but PRAISE for the young tackle;

“(Applebaum) said in his entire career, his history of coaching football, he had never met a player that can learn a playbook as fast as Ozzy Trapilo, and just really, really said how intelligent this guy was. Ben Johnson comes in the press conference. First thing he says, ‘This guy is extremely intelligent. Everything we talked about in the meeting, he immediately brought to the field and did it the right way. He’s exactly who we thought he was.”

He was a very underrated snag in the second round for this team, that made some fans go “who the heck is this guy?” But a few years from now……I think this kid is going to be a pivotal part of the Chicago Bears’ organization. I think he is going to be the man who’s “waiting in the wings” for whenever Braxton Jones is gone from the team.

Simply put; Ozzy is something special, and is already beloved by the higher-ups in the organization. He’s about to make a statement! But in the end, as always…..what do I know? I’m just a guy from the Midwest, with a beer and a laptop, trying to make sense of this world.
