Cavs Blown Out by Pacers Lose Game 4, 129-109
On Sunday May 11th, 2025, at 8 pm eastern time, the Eastern Conference top seed Cleveland Cavaliers traveled to Indianapolis Indiana to play the fourth seed Indiana Pacers in game four of their Eastern Conference Semi Finals Series, at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse. The Cavaliers won game three of the series by dominating the Pacers in Indiana last Friday 126-104. Indiana still led the series 2-1. The Cavaliers had no injuries to report before this game. Out for Indiana was Isaiah Jackson with an Achilles injury. The Cavaliers were looking to capitalize on the recent momentum shift from game three and tie the series 2-2.
In the first quarter the Pacers clearly out played the Cavaliers, and they led at the end of the opening quarter 38-23. In the second quarter the Pacers started hot with 10-0 run. And the Pacers continued to add to their lead, and they led the Cavaliers at halftime 80-39. In the third quarter the Cavaliers tried to climb back into the game. Despite the Cavaliers efforts, the Pacers still led the Cavaliers after three quarters of play 109-77. In the fourth and final quarter the Cavaliers efforts fell short, and the Pacers won game four 129-109. Losing Donovan Mitchell at halftime to an ankle injury didn’t help the Cavaliers either. The Pacers now lead the series 3-1.
The Cavaliers’ leading scorer was Darius Garland with 21 points in 27 minutes of play. Up next for the Cavaliers is game five of this series Tuesday night May 13th, 2025, 7 pm eastern time, at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis Indiana. Donovan Mitchell is expected to be listed as questionable for game five. The Cavaliers are now finding themselves facing elimination trailing the series 3-1 and potentially not having their best scorer. As the even the most optimistic fans want to believe that the series is not yet over. Of course, nothing is over until it’s over and until then. All the Cavaliers can do is take it one game at a time. Just like in 2016.
