Browns run to the playoffs nothing short of stunning

Cleveland Browns fans generally bleed Orange and Brown and despite recent decades of mediocrity, they still cheer on their favorite team. This season has been so different for the fanbase that even long-time fans like myself, find what is happening in Cleveland this campaign to be stunning. It’s almost like a dream, one that many… read more

Throwback Thursday: Cleveland’s Jim Brown and Bears’ Gale Sayers

When the Bears play the Browns on Sunday, the game will be attended by the ghosts of Jim Brown and Gale Sayers. Sayers was compared to Jim Brown throughout his career by the sports media looking for a successor to the King. Sayers, though great in his own right, did not have the career that Jim Brown had. Brown simply dominated the field of play on offense and never missed a game. Sayers was an electrifying player known for big plays, though unfortunately his brilliant career was cut short by injuries.

Browns will choose between Stefanski and Schwartz

The Browns success of defense will probably propel Defensive Coordinator Jim Schwartz to an NFL head coaching position in 2024. Thus, the Browns may have to either make him their Head Coach, replacing Kevin Stefanski, or wave goodbye. He, along with Myles Garrett, are the two Superstars that made the defense the scourge of the… read more

Browns: Thou shalt not pass!

Is it crazy to expect a 38 year old quarterback to master the passing game with just two weeks of practice? Yes.

The Browns need to run the damn ball on Sunday against Jaguars

The Cleveland Browns play the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday and if they want to win the game they need to “run the damn ball”. We did some mid-season research and looked at the season thus far the Browns and the evidence is pretty clear that when they run the ball then this team wins ballgames…. read more

It’s “Shane Falco” time in Cleveland…I mean Joe Flacco

The Browns are going with Joe Flacco as their starting quarterback headed into their battle against the Los Angeles Rams. It’s the same Joe Flacco that used to torture Cleveland fans with an 18-3 record overall, including a 10-1 lifetime record at Cleveland Browns Stadium. It’s too bad that Flacco is playing this game in… read more

Browns Quarterback Room: We Like Flacco, but Browns Still Need Emergency QB

Quarterback room does not have enough healthy bodies in it to handle an emergency. They needed to add someone to the roster when Deshaun came up with a bum shoulder, but instead they just HOPED that Deshaun would be completely healthy, and that 203 pound Dorian Thompson Robinson could carry the rest of the load if called upon. NOW they realize that they need someone else, and went after oft-injured, 38 year old Joe Flacco. Well, that’s cool, but they should still sign one more guy to the Practice Squad, and all this should have been done months ago rather than wait for Deshaun to go down and DTR to have a concussion.

Why the Cleveland Browns will Extend Deshaun Watson’s Contract

Yes, teams are overpaying quarterbacks like never before. No it is not business as usual. As a percentage of cap, Deshaun Watson is currently scheduled for a cap hit of 25% of the 2024 cap allowance. That’s way beyond the 17.2% the Chiefs paid Patrick Mahomes to win the Super Bowl last year. Prior to that no team had ever won the Super Bowl spending more than 13.1% of its cap allowance on a qb since the cap system was put in place in 1994.

Let’s Stop Flaccomania Before it Starts!

Stop hoping for the demise of the Browns young quarterbacks and praying for the installation of a slow, oft-injured old man as the Browns starter. Only the New York Jets think this is a good idea. Joe Flacco is not Aaron Rodgers Lite with all the great taste and half the calories. Dorian Thompson-Robinson gives the Browns the best chance to win.

For the Steelers, Change Must Come After a Dismal 13-10 Defeat in Cleveland

“The critics are always right. The only way you shut them up is by winning.” (Chuck Noll) Throughout the Pittsburgh Steelers’ depressing 13-10 loss at Cleveland Browns Stadium on Sunday afternoon, plenty of opinions were flying around on various game threads to explain the team’s miserable performance. Some blamed the Steelers defense for changing its… read more
