Bryan Danielson Appears During Ring Of Honor-AEW Collision Doubleheader
Ring Of Honor wrestlers competed with the Lucha Libre stars of CMLL last night on a show from Arena Mexico in Mexico City.
Thunder Rosa teamed with CMLL’s Persephone to beat ROH women’s champion Athena & ROH women’s TV champion Red Velvet.
Rosa pinned Velvet and challenged Athena for the title at Supercard of Honor on July 11.
ROH TV champion Nick Wayne battled to a 10-minute draw with CMLL’s Titan in a Proving Ground match. Titan will get a future title match for reaching the time limit.
Bandido retained the ROH World title in an amazing match against Mascara Dorada. Bandido hit the 21-Plex twice to secure the victory.
Konosuke Takeshita will challenge Bandido for the ROH title at Supercard of Honor.
Top Flight will wrestle The Infantry next week, with the winners challenging Dustin Rhodes & Sammy Guevara for the ROH tag team title at the pay-per-view.
Blue Panther, who is 64 years old, defeated ROH Pure Rules champion Lee Moriarty in a non-title match. The legendary luchador will get a title shot at the PPV.
Moriarty’s teammates in Shane Taylor Promotions attacked Panther, but several luchadores and Bryan Danielson came to the rescue! Danielson laid out Taylor with the Busaiku knee strike.
AEW COLLISION
Collision came up next on a Thursday night to avoid competing with WWE Night of Champions on Saturday.
Christian Cage is targeting the AEW tag team title, currently held by The Hurt Syndicate. Cage teamed with Nick Wayne to beat Big Bill & Bryan Keith.
Brody King & Templario defeated Rocky Romero & Hechicero. King hit the Ganso Bomb to pin Romero.
Megan Bayne scored a quick win over Vertvixen with the Fate’s Decent (F-5 slam). Queen Aminata defeated Skye Blue.
Adam Cole retained the TNT championship with a win over Josh Alexander. Cole hit “The Boom” knee strike for the win.
KYLE VS. KYLE
In the main event, Kyle Fletcher defeated Kyle O’Reilly with a brainbuster.
The fans had a great time with “Kyle” chants, including “We want Kyle” and dueling chants of “Kyle’s awesome” and “Kyle sucks!”
WHAT’S IN A NUMBER?
Next week, AEW will present the 300th episode of Dynamite and the 100th edition of Collision.
Also, TBS champion Mercedes Mone will wrestle her 1000th career match against Mina Shirakawa on Dynamite.
