Brewers Have a Star in Jacob Misiorowski
There is something special about the pitching lab that is in Milwaukee. They’ve always managed to produce high quality and caliber starting pitchers. You just think recently. Corbin Burnes, Brandon Woodruff, Freddy Peralta, and now Jacob Misiorowski.
A Star is Born: Jacob Misiorowski
It almost feels unfair and they always seem to churn out the next up and coming pitcher. The second round pick in the 2022 MLB Draft made his debut last week against the St. Louis Cardinals. It was exciting and in front of the home fans and that crowd was ready. He was elite in Triple A, having a 2.13 ERA and a 80-31 K-BB rate before the call up, so you knew he was ready. And oh boy was he ever.
This kid not only has the arsenal, but throws pure gasoline on the mound. He opened his first two pitches being 100 MPH. Not to mention he has a 96 MPH slider. It’s truly remarkable to be honest and it’s almost not even fair. The kid is a human cheat code.
His first start gave alot of optimism. He pitched five strong innings, four walks, five strikeouts and zero earned runs. If not for rolling his ankle, he easily would’ve kept going in the outing. We as fans felt robbed. But have no fear, he delivered and picked up where he left off.
You wouldn’t really think that a game between the Twins and the Brewers would be appointment television. But when you have Misiorowski and Joe Ryan going head to head, that’s appointment television. Ryan did his part to start, but Misiorowski made history.
Misiorowski has the second longest no-hit streak to start a career since 1920. He did have a perfect game going, but a walk to Byron Buxton in the bottom of the seventh derailed that. Also, he had a no hitter going and saw that get broken by a Sal Frelick homer. It took six innings for him to allow his first earned run. He’s special and he had a special outing.
Misiorowski pitched six very strong innings and punched out six batters. That’s now 11 strikeouts in 11 innings of work. His had nine whiffs and had 29 pitches 100 MPH and his velocity topped out at 102. Not to mention, he made Will Castro look absolutely silly. It’s amazing the combination of pitches he uses and his arsenal is just magnificent.
Jacob Misiorowski just made Willi Castro look SILLY 🤮

Since pitches have been tracked, he has thrown 18 pitches that have been 101 MPH or greater. He’s pitched 11 total innings. The Brewers have a star in this kid and he’s an absolute treat to watch.
