Brandon Woofruff Has Not Skipped a Beat Since Return

To everyone’s surprise, the Milwaukee Brewers have made their way to the top of the baseball mountain. You can never write this team off entirely, but after losing key pieces this winter many could predict that they’d rake a step backwards. Instead, they are among the elite of the elite in baseball. Yes, they have had the bats to help them along the way, but this is one of the best pitching staffs in baseball and now they got one of their best workhorses back into the fold. That’s Brandon Woodruff.

Woodruff is a Major Boost to the Rotation

There is alot of smoke and fireworks around this Brewers rotation. One of the biggest talking points of the baseball world is the sensation that is Jacob Misiorowski. The kid has been sensational and has had a Paul Skenes esque vibe around him. He’s electric, throws hard, and is a strikeout machine. Best thing they’ve done is call him up. But this team is also getting quality pitching from Freddy Peralta, who leads the league in wins (12) among pitchers and is rocking a 2.65 ERA. Jose Quintana has been good, and even when he was in the rotation, Chad Patrick put together good starts. Heck, even Quinn Priester has been a massive bright spot since acquiring him from the Boston Red Sox. They have talent and depth and getting Woodruff back helps a ton.

If the Brewers are going to continue to make noise in the National League, they are going to need to pitch. Heck, since June 1 and the beginning of their hot streak, the Brewers are second in team ERA. Phenomenal. As of recent, Woodruff has played a major part.

Woodruff hasn’t pitched since 2023 and you wouldn’t know that by watching him. He’s been that good. He has three starts and two of them are wins. Woodruff has a 1.65 ERA and an 0.55 WHIP. Small sample size, but that is nothing to scoff at. The best part? He has a 23-0 K/BB ratio. Phenomenal command he is having and he is pitching like he has never left the mound.

You enter the playoffs, the Brewers are trotting out Peralta, Misiorowski, and now Woodruff. That’s terrifying. They have shown they can compete with the best of the best in the NL and in their division. This team convincingly swept the Dodgers TWICE and they are currently first in their division. It’s very early, but Woodruff has been a major bright spot and it’ll be fun to watch him as the season progresses.
