Ballpark Bets: Pitchers, Pitchers, and More Pitchers

Lopez 5+ Strikeouts / Twins Win (+134)

The hottest team in baseball; the Minnesota Twins, who have won 12 straight. Their pitching has been elite in this span and Lopez has done his fair share to help.

Yes, he has a 4.09 his last three starts, but the strikeouts is the big thing. He’s averaging 13.91 K/9 and his 17 strikeouts is the most among the starters during their win streak.

Lopez will shove and the bullpen has been elite in this stretch as well. Love the Brew Crew, but the streak stays alive and Lopez hitting five is very doable.

Pivetta 5+ / Padres Win (+100)

This one is bold, but there is a trend regarding Pivetta and pitching inside Petco Park.

Pivetta is 4-0 in home games this season, which is great to see from home. In those home starts, he has hit 5+ strikeouts in three of the four starts. The odds of the strikeouts hitting are very doable.

Their opponent in the Mariners have been good offensively and are more lethal than last season. The pitching matchup favors the Padres and I think the bats wake up more after last nights loss.

Kershaw 4+ Strikeouts (-115)

Welcome back legend. Clayton Kershaw returns for his 18th season and all with the Dodgers. Expectations should not be super high, but this is great that he’s returning and giving aid to a very injury riddled rotation.

4+ strikeouts shouldn’t be super hard to do, especially against the Angels. The Angels do strikeout a lot, third most actually.

So easy to root for; why not shoot for the moon with this one.
