Ballpark Bets: Performance Doubles, Total Bases, and Dinger of the Day
Kris Bubic 5+ Strikeouts (-185)
We just saw Noah Cameron, notably not a strikeout guy punch out six batters in his outing against the Yankees. Bubic, who is more of a shrieking guy should very much be able to hit five in this outing.
Bubic has been an awesome pitcher for the Royals. He has 79 strikeouts in 75.1 innings pitched. He thrives in getting batters to chase and to whiff, and ranks in the 78th percentile for strikeout rate.
Five is a bit conservative, but very much attainable even against this Yankees lethal offense.
Giants -1.5 / Robbie Ray 6+ Strikeouts (+100)
The Giants should at the very least cover the spread. That’s been a doable thing more often than not for any team facing the Rockies.
As for Robbie Ray, he’s been very good at generating the swing and miss and has achieved 6+ strikeouts in his last five starts and is facing a Rockies team that has been a heavy strikeout team.
Pete Alonso 2+ Total Bases (-130)
If there is one thing that the Polar Bear does well this season, it is hitting right handed pitchers. A juicy matchup with Jake Irvin on deck presents itself.
Alonso has done exceptionally well against right handed pitching this season. He has 29 extra bass hits and has a .651 slugging percentage and a 1.025 OPS. The recipe is here, now it’s time to execute.
Dinger of the Day!
Rafael Devers (+215)
Dinger of the day hit yesterday. Now it’s time for the second day in a row. The best bat for the Red Sox looks to hit his first home run of this series and help the Red Sox win their second series in a row.
