Chase Burns 7+ Strikeouts and Reds Win (+126)
There is a recipe here. Two not so great offenses, but the pitching does lean into the Reds’ favor. Burns is a strikeout menace and the Pirates are a strikeout machine of a team. The Reds winning should be doable, but Keller is still a solid threat on the mound. I’m leaning with the rookie.
Max Scherzer 4+ Strikeouts AND Clayton Kershaw 3+ Strikeouts (-115)
Get your coffee brewing folks; the 10:10 PM game is between two first ballot Hall of Fame pitchers. These two shaped a generation for years to come and they’ve done an enormous job on the mound. Scherzer should reach 4 Strikeouts, just due to the fact the Dodgers offense has not been nearly as stellar as of late. Kershaw has his work cut out for him, as the Blue Jays do not strikeout much. Should be a great matchup and I am very excited to watch it.
Phillies Moneyline AND Padres Moneyline (+174)
The Padres welcome the red hot Red Sox, but they have Nick Pivetta pitching on the mound. Nick Pivetta is 7-0 at Petco Park this season. He has the second lowest average (.189) and the third lowest WHIP (0.94), so that’s a good recipe for success to winning. They’ll face Walker Buehler, which to me is a good recipe for the Padres, as he’s been bad.
The Phillies and Sanchez on the mound against Merrill Kelly will be a challenge. But a challenge the Phillies should be able to overcome. I like these two wins paired together.
