Angel Reese Is The QUEEN Of The “Mebound!”

Caitlin Clark is the FACE of the WNBA, there’s no question about it. She’s the reigning Rookie Of The Year, who posted a 19.2/5.7/8.4 line in her very first season. She is the one who “moves the needle” for the league, and who is ACTUALLY helping to get the eyeballs turned in their direction.

She is the best player to come from the 2024 WNBA draft, and every “Angel Reese lover” in the country who thinks otherwise needs to calm down. But, having said that…..I will say that there’s one facet of the game that the former LSU Tiger has on LOCK, and that will NEVER be touched by Indiana’s superstar.

That…..is the “Mebound!”

The fact that that clip is real is insane, and I still can’t believe it myself. Angel Reese, last year’s league-leader in rebounds per game (13.1), went on a TWENTY SECOND RUN of throwing up bricks and grabbing her own rebound. Reese was able to pad her stats with great ease, to the point where she almost had double-digit boards in the FIRST HALF ALONE!

It was a “pure display of dominance” (I think that’s how you describe it) on the offensive side of the ball, as Reese made the rest of the women around her look like they were in high school. It was also a performance that brought her season RPG to a league-leading 14.5.

She is (apparently) considered one of the best “glass-eaters” in the entire WNBA. But for people to call her “dominant?” That seems like a bit of a stretch. For people to call a player who’s currently shooting a league-worst 22.7% from the field one of the “best in the game?” It’s a WILD take to make.

Sure, it takes talent and strength to continuously regain possession, like she does. But she’s not a “top of the league” talent, and the comparisons to Dennis Rodman are a slap in the face to the former Bulls’ career.

She’s a very “memeable” presence on the basketball court. But in the end, as always……what do I know? I’m just a guy from the Midwest, with a beer and a laptop, trying to make sense of this world.
