Mark Briscoe and Kris Statlander qualified for the All In Texas Casino Gauntlet matches last night on Dynamite in suburban Seattle.

They won four-way matches to ensure that they will have the No. 1 spot in the Casino matches on July 12.

Wait a minute. Why would they want the No. 1 spot? Isn’t that a bad thing, like drawing No. 1 in the Royal Rumble?

No. A Casino Gauntlet match can have up to 21 participants, but it can end at any time.

So, if you draw No. 20, the match could end before you even get to the ring. The No. 1 wrestler will have to wrestle a long match but will have every opportunity to win.

Briscoe won despite The Hurt Syndicate calling him a loser just before the match. He defeated Roderick Strong, Konosuke Takeshita, and Ring Of Honor champion Bandido.

Kris Statlander grabbed the No. 1 spot in the women’s Casino match with a victory over Willow Nightingale, Thunder Rosa, and ROH women’s champion Athena.

WHO’S THE BOSS?

Swerve Strickland teamed with Will Ospreay to defeat Blake Christian & Lee Johnson in the opener.

After the match, Strickland & Ospreay challenged The Young Bucks to put their Executive Vice President positions on the line at All In Texas.

Kota Ibushi returned to AEW action for the first time since 2023 by defeating Trent Beretta.

WIN SOME, LOSE SOME

Kevin Knight & Speedball Mike Bailey had an up-and-down evening.

They were up when they beat Ricochet & AR Fox, and they were down when The Hurt Syndicate put them through a table.

Despite the beating, Bailey & Knight (JetSpeed!) will challenge Shelton Benjamin & Bobby Lashley for the AEW tag team title at All In Texas.

In the main event, “Hangman” Adam Page pinned The Beast Mortos after a Buckshot Lariat.

The Young Bucks and The Death Riders attacked Hangman after the match, with The Opps (Samoa Joe’s team) making the save.

Next week, AEW will present the 300th episode of Dynamite. Kazuchika Okada will wrestle Kota Ibushi, and Mercedes Mone will defend the TBS title against Mina Shirakawa.
