AEW Dynamite: Swerve Strickland and Ricochet on Collision Course at Revolution PPV
Swerve Strickland and Ricochet opened last nightâs AEW Dynamite with a contract signing for their match at the Revolution pay-per-view on Sunday in Los Angeles.
After the signing, both men pulled out scissors, and Swerve got revenge for the initial attack by jabbing Ricochet in the head.
The winner of their match will be the top contender for the AEW World title.
They came back for the main event, as Ricochet teamed with Kazuchika Okada to defeat Strickland and Brody King. Ricochet pinned Swerve after hitting him with Okadaâs Continental title belt.
Okada will defend that title against King at Revolution.
PARTY MATCH
Last night’s opening bout in Sacramento, Calif., was AEWâs signature action-packed multi-man match.
Will Ospreay teamed with Orange Cassidy, Powerhouse Hobbs & Mark Briscoe to beat The Don Callis Family & Bryan Keith.
Ospreay pinned Keith after the Hidden Blade and will face Kyle Fletcher in a steel cage at Revolution.
AND THEN THERE WAS ONE
âThe Rated-R Superstarâ Cope beat Wheeler Yuta. Instead of injuring him after the match, Cope shook his hand.
Jon Moxley came in and argued with Yuta, who walked away. That means Moxley is all alone without the Death Riders for the World title match on Sunday.
âSwitchbladeâ Jay White squashed Max Caster and said he would watch Copeâs back during the title match against Moxley.
BOX-OFFICE SMASH
âTimelessâ Toni Storm announced that she will appear in a real movie. âQueen of the Ringâ opens Friday; it is a biography of womenâs wrestling champion Mildred Burke.
Megan Bayne continued her dominant run in AEW. She teamed with Kris Statlander to defeat Thunder Rosa & Penelope Ford.
Momo Watanabe will get a title shot at TBS champion Mercedes Mone at Revolution. Momo will face Serena Deeb this Saturday on Collision.
