AEW Dynamite Invades ECW Arena in Philadelphia
After drawing 18,000 fans at the O2 Arena in London for Forbidden Door, AEW rolled into the old bingo hall in Philadelphia where extreme wrestling began.
Last night’s Dynamite took place at the 2300 Arena, formerly known as the ECW Arena. AEW will runs its show there for the next three weeks.
In the main event, Darby Allin and Claudio Castagnoli battled in a Falls Count Anywhere match.
Allin, who conquered Mount Everest, won the match with a Coffin Drop. He wants to face Jon Moxley at the All Out pay-per-view on Sept. 20.
So far, Moxley has said no. He won the opening match against Daniel Garcia, but he doesn’t want to fight Allin.
One match that will take place at All Out is Adam Copeland & Christian Cage vs. FTR.
The former Edge & Christian will return to their hometown of Toronto for a battle of two of the most decorated tag teams of all time.
LET’S BE FRIENDS
Willow Nightingale and Kris Statlander haven’t been able to repair their friendship, but maybe Harley Cameron can do it for them.
Statlander & Cameron defeated Penelope Ford & Megan Bayne. Willow came out to stop a post-match attack, and Cameron hugged Willow and Stat and raised their hands.
The Opps (Samoa Joe, Katsuyori Shibata & Powerhouse Hobbs) defeated Ricochet & Gates of Agony to retain the AEW trios title.
ALL IN THE FAMILY
The Don Callis Family is trying to get all three singles titles under their control. Kazuchika Okada holds the Unified title, and Kyle Fletcher has the TNT belt.
Okada teamed with Konosuke Takeshita, Josh Alexander & Hechicero to defeat Bandido, Brody King, Kevin Knight & Speedball Mike Bailey.
Later in the show, Callis said he wanted “Hangman” Adam Page’s AEW World title.
Callis sent his squad after the champ, but Knight, Bailey, and Kenny Omega made the save to set up an eight-man tag team match for next week’s show at the ECW Arena.
