AEW Dynamite: Challengers Line Up for Jon Moxley’s World Title

Jon Moxley survived the Revolution pay-per-view, but he has more future challengers than he can count.

Next week on Dynamite, “The Rated-R Superstar” Cope will get another shot at the World title, this time in a street fight.

Cope challenged for the belt at Revolution, but his old buddy Christian Cage cashed in his contract for a title shot and lost the match.

OTHER CHALLENGERS

Swerve Strickland defeated Ricochet at Revolution to become the No. 1 contender. He will get his title match at the Dynasty pay-per-view in Philadelphia on April 6.

Will Ospreay declared that he also wants a title shot. “The Aerial Assassin” plans to win the Owen Hart Cup and compete in the main event of All In Texas this summer.

Throughout the evening, other wrestlers talked about their World title aspirations. This list includes Christian Cage, Jay White, and MJF.

During MJF’s monologue, MVP showed up and gave him a hug. Apparently, they are old buddies. MVP invited MJF to do business with The Hurt Syndicate.

INTERNATIONAL TOURNAMENT

Speedball Mike Bailey made a successful AEW debut by defeating The Beast Mortos to kick off a tournament for a shot at the International title.

In another tournament bout, Orange Cassidy defeated Mexican star Hechicero in the main event.

Bailey and Cassidy advanced to a four-way bout on next week’s Dynamite. The winner will challenge Kenny Omega for the title at Dynasty.

The other two spots will be filled on Collision. Mark Briscoe will face Mark Davis, while Ricochet will battle Katsuyori Shibata.

MAKE ROOM FOR MEGAN

Megan Bayne attacked “Timeless” Toni Storm after her speech to the women’s roster. Bayne could be the next challenger for Storm’s AEW women’s title.

Bayne also showed up after Willow Nightingale’s victory over Penelope Ford. Kris Statlander came to help Willow, but Megan clobbered both of them.

OTHER BOUTS

Shibata teamed with Samoa Joe & Hook (The Opps) to win a quick match against Vinny Pacifico, Eli Theseus & Gabriel Aeros.

Max Caster issued another open challenge to face the “Best Wrestler Alive.” Konosuke Takeshita beat him easily.

In an oddball tag team match, Powerhouse Hobbs teamed with Hologram to defeat Dralistico & “The Machine” Brian Cage.

Next week on Dynamite, Mercedes Mone will wrestle Billie Starkz.
