AEW Collision: Will Kris Statlander Join The Death Riders?
The Death Riders already have a dangerous female member in Marina Shafir, but that isn’t stopping them from recruiting Kris Statlander.
Last night on AEW Collision in Glasgow, Scotland, Statlander complained that her $100,000 check for winning last week’s four-way match bounced.
The bonus money is being taken from The Young Bucks as punishment for their previous reign of terror as Executive Vice Presidents.
Harley Cameron was unable to collect the money, but Jon Moxley was able to convince the Young Bucks to cough up the cash.
The key to this recruitment drive is Wheeler Yuta, who used to be part of the Best Friends faction with Statlander.
Today on the Forbidden Door Zero Hour, Statlander will team with Willow Nightingale, Queen Aminata & Cameron against The Triangle of Madness & Megan Bayne.
We’ll see if Statlander and Willow Nightingale can get along, as Willow has not accepted Statlander’s apology for turning heel and joining Stokely Hathaway.
DROP THE BOMB
Collision opened with an eight-man tag team match. Sky Flight (Scorpio Sky and Top Flight) teamed with Hiromu Takahashi to defeat The Don Callis Family (Lance Archer, Hechicero, Rocky Romero & Josh Alexander).
Takahashi pinned Romero after a Time Bomb driver. Takahashi will challenge Kyle Fletcher today at Forbidden Door for the TNT title.
Megan Bayne pinned Isla Dawn after a running Liger Bomb. Dawn is a former WWE women’s tag team champion with Alba Fyre.
Willow Nightingale & Queen Aminata beat Julia Hart & Skye Blue. Aminata pinned Blue after the “Off With Her Head” knee strike.
BEST WRESTLER ALIVE?
Max Caster had a rough night. IWGP World champion Zack Sabre Jr. answered his “Best Wrestler Alive” Challenge and forced him to submit in less than three minutes.
Anthony Bowens, Caster’s former partner in The Acclaimed, beat up Caster after the match.
Konosuke Takeshita, who won New Japan’s G-1 Climax tournament, beat Tomohiro Ishii after the Raging Fire slam.
Big Bill scored a convincing win over Mark Andrews. Gates of Agony defeated the Grizzled Young Veterans.
In the main event, The Young Bucks defeated Paragon (Kyle O’Reilly & Roderick Strong).
Today’s Forbidden Door pay-per-view has an early start time of 1 p.m. Eastern. The Zero Hour pre-show will begin at 11:30 a.m.
