A Look at the WR Duo on the Cover of College Football 26
The cover of the College Football 26 video game was shared on Tuesday.
There were two athletes featured on the cover — and EA Sports got it right.
The pair of freshmen sensation wide receivers Jeremiah Smith and Ryan Williams are front and center on the cover of the highly anticipated video game.
Jeremiah Smith made an immediate impact for an Ohio State team that made a run to the National Championship. Smith looked like a grown man on the field as a true freshman and quickly turned into the top receiver in the nation.
Smith logged 76 catches for 1,315 yards and 15 touchdowns. At 6-foot-3, Smith had every tool needed to be successful. There were even talks that he would have been a top pick in the NFL Draft if he was able to come out after just one collegiate season.
Smith caught five balls for 88 yards and a touchdown in the National title game against Notre Dame. He turned in three 100-yard games during the regular season before two in the College Football Playoff. This includes an incredible performance against Oregon when he finished with seven catches for 187 yards and two touchdowns. Smith began his career with a touchdown catch in seven straight games.
Smith did not look like a freshman last season. It is exciting to think that college football fans have two more years to watch him play. Another player that fits that mold is Alabama’s Ryan Williams.
The Crimson Tide freshman does not have the overall size of Smith but possesses an incredible route-running ability while also being lightning quick. We saw his agility on a game-winning touchdown against Georgia where he stopped on a dime before spinning near the sideline.
Williams finished with 48 catches for 865 yards and eight touchdowns last season. Against Georgia, which was the biggest game of the year for Alabama, Williams turned in 177 yards and a touchdown. He scored six touchdowns in his first five collegiate games.
The future of college football is in good hands with this elite duo of wide receivers leading the way.
