Nigel McGuinness, like Edge, Paige, and Bryan Danielson, has returned from a career-threatening injury.

He thrilled the Wembley Stadium fans by returning at last year’s All Out, and he also challenged for the ROH Pure Rules title.

Even though he’s still the regular Collision color commentator, McGuinness has a chance to win a major championship.

Last night on Collision, he won the “Technical Spectacle” match to earn a shot at Zack Sabre’ Jr.’s IWGP World title.

The bout for the top championship in New Japan will take place at the O2 Arena in London at AEW’s Forbidden Door pay-per-view on Sunday, Aug. 24.

McGuinness defeated Hechicero, Lee Moriarty, and Daniel Garcia to earn the title shot. After the match, Nigel recruited Garcia to be his cornerman for the championship match.

Jon Moxley wrestled on Collision since AEW was in his hometown of Cincinnati. He teamed with Wheeler Yuta to defeat Jet Speed (Kevin Knight & Speedball Mike Bailey).

Ricochet defeated Ace Austin, the newest member of the AEW roster. Austin has spent most of his career in TNA Wrestling.

Despite the loss of their leader, Adam Cole, the Paragon duo of Kyle O’Reilly & Roderick Strong defeated Blake Christian & Lee Johnson.

Juice Robinson defeated “The Bad Apple” Bryan Keith after a DDT.

WOMEN’S BRAWL NO. 1 AND 2

Timeless Toni Storm’s show-opening monologue was interrupted by an attack by Athena and Billie Starkz. Mina Shirakawa made the save.

An even more chaotic women’s battle took place later in the show.

Kris Statlander earned $100,000 by winning a four-way battle with Julia Hart, Anna Jay, and Penelope Ford.

After the bout, Megan Bayne, Skye Blue, and Thekla jumped into the fray, followed by Queen Aminata and Harley Cameron.

Next week, Dynamite and Collision will take place in Glasgow, Scotland before Forbidden Door in London.
