Sami Zayn Moves to WWE Smackdown, Targets Solo Sikoa’s US Title
Raw and Smackdown wrestlers have been invading the opposite show for several weeks now. Sami Zayn made an official move to Smackdown last night in Boston.
Zayn had defeated U.S. champion Solo Sikoa in a non-title match on last week’s Smackdown.
This inspired Sikoa and his My Family Tree faction to invade Raw and cost Zayn a chance to beat Rusev and earn a World title shot.
Last night, Zayn interrupted Sikoa’s opening monologue. He said that he had officially moved to Smackdown and was targeting Solo’s US title.
This led to an MFT beatdown, and Jimmy Uso and Jacob Fatu came to save Zayn.
In their six-man main event, Zayn pinned Solo after a Heluva Kick to win the match for his team.
Chelsea Green’s Secret Hervice (Alba Fyre & Piper Niven) is targeting Alexa Bliss & Charlotte Flair’s WWE women’s tag team title.
Bliss defeated Niven in a singles match, but Green and her squad beat up the champions after the bout.
TAG TEAM ACTION
Carmelo Hayes & The Miz (“Melo Don’t Miz”) have jumped into the pool of WWE tag team contenders. They defeated Nathan Frazier & Axiom.
Hayes tried to win the match with his Nothing But Net dive from the top rope, but Miz tagged himself in and stole the pinfall.
In another tag team battle, The Street Profits defeated #DIY when Montez Ford pinned Tomasso Ciampa with a frog splash.
Drew McIntyre talked about last week’s attack on Cody Rhodes and their upcoming WWE title bout at Clash in Paris on Aug. 31.
