Legendary: Jose Ramirez Homers Twice as Cleveland Guardians Beat Miami Marlins

While Jose Ramirez was in a recent slump, his fellow Cleveland Guardians picked him up and the team kept winning.

Last night, Ramirez carried the squad to a 4-3 win over the Miami Marlins.

Cleveland has won six out of seven games, while Miami has lost four in a row.

Ramirez bashed a solo homer off Janson Junk in the first inning. Kyle Manzardo went back-to-back with his 21st homer of the season.

Cleveland increased the lead to 3-0 when Brayan Rocchio singled to score Gabriel Arias in the second inning.

FRESH FISH

The Marlins, like the Athletics, have some promising young hitters, and they rallied to tie the game 3-3 in the fifth off Cleveland starter Logan Allen.

Xavier Edwards and Otto Lopez scored on a throwing error by Gold Glove left fielder Steven Kwan.

Heriberto Hernandez tied the game with a double to score Dane Myers.

Kwan atoned for his error by gunning down Eric Wagaman at the plate in the sixth inning to prevent the Marlins from taking the lead.

He has 11 outfield assists, which leads the major leagues.

HEROES OF THE EIGHTH INNING

With the Marlins threatening in the top of the eighth, Guardians manager Stephen Vogt brought in closer Cade Smith to end the threat.

In the bottom of the eighth, Ramirez hit another solo homer. His 25th bomb of the season provided the winning margin.

Ramirez set a new Cleveland record with 27 multi-homer games. He was tied with Albert Belle and Jim Thome.

Smith (5-4) shut down the Marlins in the ninth.

The series will continue tonight at 6:40 p.m. at Progressive Field. Gavin Williams (7-4) will start for Cleveland against Eury Perez (4-3) for Miami.
