Logan Paul Targets “Good Guy” John Cena on WWE Smackdown
John Cena’s ill-advised heel turn is finally in the past. WWE fans have permission to cheer him until he retires at the end of the year.
Montreal fans poured out their love for Cena last night on WWE Smackdown.
Cena addressed Brock Lesnar’s attack at the end of SummerSlam and said Lesnar now had “a John Cena problem.”
Logan Paul crashed the party and asked for a match with Cena. He ended up getting two.
Paul will face Cena at September’s Clash in Paris, and last night’s main event was Cena & Cody Rhodes vs. Logan Paul & Drew McIntyre.
Paul hit Cena with a low blow to cause a disqualification. McIntyre blasted Rhodes with a Claymore Kick to emerge as the next challenger for Cody’s WWE title.
Next week, Smackdown will be in Cena’s hometown of Boston. He only has 11 appearances left before he retires.
TAG TEAM FALLOUT
The Wyatt Sicks are still the WWE tag team champions after the insane six-team Tables, Ladders & Chairs match at SummerSlam.
As for their challengers, #DIY will wrestle The Street Profits next week.
Solo Sikoa is sending his My Family Tree duo of JC Mateo & Talla Tonga after the belts. The MFTs started their quest by defeating Motor City Machine Guns.
Sikoa was gloating after the victory until Montreal’s own Sami Zayn came out to fight him. Zayn defeated the US champion in a non-title match.
WHO WANTS CAKE?
Speaking of Canadians, Chelsea Green interrupted Charlotte Flair’s celebration with Alexa Bliss.
Flair brought a cake to the ring to congratulate herself on winning the WWE tag team title (and, oh yeah, happy birthday to Bliss).
Predictably, Flair defeated Green with the Figure-Eight leglock and smashed Green’s face into the cake.
