“Hangman” Adam Page Rescues AEW Title from Jon Moxley at All In Texas
The AEW World title is free from Jon Moxley, The Death Riders, and being stuck in a briefcase.
“Hangman” Adam Page recaptured the title in a bloody Texas Death match at AEW’s All In Texas pay-per-view at Globe Life Field, the Texas Rangers baseball stadium.
With no disqualifications, everyone knew The Death Riders would try to help Moxley. The question was: Who would back up the Hangman?
Swerve Strickland helped after forging a truce with his longtime rival. Darby Allin came back from conquering Mt. Everest, and Bryan Danielson contributed as well. Moxley had won the belt from “The American Dragon” 10 months ago.
With the Death Riders subdued, Page lived up to his name by hanging Moxley with a chain and forcing him to submit.
MAJOR MATCHES
“Timeless” Toni Storm retained the AEW women’s title, handing Mercedes Mone her first loss in AEW. The champ retained the belt with a Storm Zero piledriver off the ropes.
Kazuchika Okada beat Kenny Omega with the Rainmaker lariat to unify the Continental and International titles. Okada is now the AEW Unified champion.
FINISH THE STORY
Dustin Rhodes now holds three championships at age 56. He won the vacant TNT championship by defeating Sammy Guevara, Kyle Fletcher, and Daniel Garcia.
Rhodes also holds the Ring Of Honor tag team and six-man titles with Guevara and The Von Erichs, respectively.
Adam Cole was forced to relinquish the TNT title due to a career-threatening injury.
Will Ospreay & Swerve Strickland defeated The Young Bucks, so they can continue to challenge for the AEW World title. The Bucks lost their positions as Executive Vice Presidents.
CASINO GAUNTLET MATCHES
MJF won the Men’s Casino Gauntlet match after starting the match at No. 2. Mark Briscoe hit a Jay Driller on Roderick Strong, but MJF stole the pin.
Athena continued her amazing weekend by winning the Women’s Casino Gauntlet. She hit the O-Face (flying stunner) on Mina Shirakawa for the victory.
Now, MJF can attempt to regain the AEW title, while Athena can try to add the AEW women’s belt to her “forever” reign as Ring Of Honor women’s champion.
The Opps (Samoa Joe, Powerhouse Hobbs & Katsuyori Shibata) defeated Claudio Castagnoli, Wheeler Yuta & Gabe Kidd) to retain the AEW trios title.
The Death Riders attacked The Opps after the match to prevent them from helping Page later, but the Hangman had a lot more backup.
WILL EDGE & CHRISTIAN REUNITE?
The Hurt Syndicate retained the AEW tag team title with a win over Christian Cage & Nick Wayne and Kevin Knight & Speedball Mike Bailey.
After the match, Wayne and Kip Sabian turned against Christian and joined forces with FTR. They were about to hit Christian with the Con-chair-to when Adam “Edge” Copeland made the save.
Copeland and Christian won seven WWF tag team titles together, so we will see if they reunite to battle FTR, who are 10-time tag team champs.
ZERO HOUR PRE-SHOW
The Sons of Texas (Dustin Rhodes, Sammy Guevara & The Von Erichs) beat Shane Taylor Promotions with a quadruple pin. Kevin Von Erich, age 68, put Anthony Ogogo in the Iron Claw.
Big Boom AJ teamed with Kyle O’Reilly, Hologram & Tomohiro Ishii to defeat The Don Callis Family (Lance Archer, Trent Beretta, Rocky Romero & Hechicero).
FTR beat The Outrunners in a rematch of their outstanding match on Collision. The Outrunners dressed as a pack of Newport cigarettes.
