2025 Georgia Football: Season Preview, Schedule And Predictions
2024 SEASON-IN-REVIEW
Record: 11-3, Loss vs. Notre Dame in College Football Playoff Quarterfinal (23-10)
It was another big year for Georgia but the National Championship hopes went to the wayside after an injury to Carson Beck. The Bulldogs suffered losses to Alabama and Ole Miss before making a run to the SEC Championship. This is where Beck suffered an injury and was forced to miss the playoff game.
OFFENSE: Bulldogs Must Be Better but Will They?
Beck did not finish the 2024 season and is now in Miami. It is time for Gunnar Stockton to step up and make it his job. How will this work out?
Stockton will have some new weapons to work with including USC transfer Zachariah Branch. He was an extremely dynamic weapon out west and will bring a new element to Georgia. Noah Thomas also comes in as a transfer while Dillon Bell caught 43 passes and four touchdowns last season.
The offensive line is full of pros protecting Stockton this season. Earnest Greene III is an anchor at tackle while Monroe Freeling, the 6-foot-7 tackle, will take over the other side.
Georgia needs more on the ground. Josh McCray comes in from Illinois as a fifth-year back after 10 touchdowns last season. Nate Frazier is also back and will create an interesting duo. The Bulldogs will need the ground game to excel to add that dynamic to the offense.
DEFENSE: Georgia Needs to be Great
The Georgia defense was good last year — it was not great.
For the Bulldog to return to National Championship form, the defense will need to be great. Especially with some question marks offensively.
Georgia allowed 3.7 yards per carry last season. The interior is strong this season with Jordan Hall and Xzavier McLeod stepping into extended roles.
Elo Modozie was a major addition in the transfer portal. He comes in after 6.5 sacks last season and has the ability to disrupt a game plan. He will take over on one edge with CJ Allen on the other.
In the secondary, Daylen Everett returns as one of the premiere corners in the SEC. Malaki Starks is gone at the safety position but KJ Bolden is ready to take over.
