Rockies top prospect Charlie Condon selected to All-Star Futures Game
The 2025 All-Star Futures Game rosters were announced on Monday, June 30, highlighting some of the best and brightest of Major League Baseball’s next generation of talent. Among the numerous prospects, the Colorado Rockies will send the 2024 third overall pick, Charlie Condon.
Condon is slashing .312/.431/.420 with six doubles, three home runs, 17 RBI, and 26 walks in 35 games with High-A Spokane this season. The 22-year-old is a native of Marietta, GA, the 22-year-old is currently ranked as Colorado’s top prospect and No. 22 in all of baseball by MLB Pipeline.
It will be a homecoming of sorts as the All-Star Game festivities, including the 26th annual Futures Game, will take place in Atlanta, GA. Condon was selected third overall by the Rockies last season from the University of Georgia, where he dazzled with the Bulldogs. As a sophomore at UGA in 2024, Condon became the third player in NCAA history to lead the country in home runs (37) and batting average (.433) in the same season.
He got off to a slow start in his professional career after dealing with a thumb injury that impacted his swing mechanics during his first taste with the Indians. He limped to a .180/.248/.270 slash with one home run in 25 games with Spokane, helping the team secure the Northwest League championship title.
Again, Condon was hindered by injury in 2025 as he fractured his wrist diving for a ball in spring training. It was the first minor league game in camp, and Condon was sidelined until the start of May when he rehabbed in the Arizona Complex League before starting play in Spokane. Since joining the Indians on May 21, Condon has been one of the most consistent hitters in the NWL and recently received a promotion to Double-A Hartford.
He has worked on his defensive versatility, receiving starts at first base, third base, and left field. The Rockies remain high on his future, and he will face a bigger test at the plate with the promotion to the Yard Hards of the Eastern League.
The Futures Game will be played at 4:00 p.m. ET on Saturday, July 12th at Truist Park in Atlanta
