Cody Rhodes, Jade Cargill Crowned King and Queen of the Ring at WWE Night of Champions

Cody Rhodes helped start All Elite Wrestling in 2019. Jade Cargill began her career in AEW.

Last night, they won the King and Queen of the Ring tournaments at WWE Night of Champions in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Rhodes defeated Randy Orton in the tournament final. Orton tried to use an exposed top turnbuckle, but Rhodes used it instead and hit the Cross Rhodes for the pin.

Cargill became Queen by defeating Asuka with the Jaded slam.

The new monarchs will get title matches at the first-ever two-night SummerSlam in August.

WITH ENEMIES LIKE THESE …

Seth Rollins flew halfway around the world to ruin CM Punk’s chances of regaining the WWE championship.

Punk was challenging John Cena in a rematch of their classic bout at Money in the Bank 2011.

After the referee was knocked down, Rollins showed up with Bron Breaker and Bronson Reed, who put Punk through a table.

Rollins wanted to cash in the Money in the Bank briefcase, so he called for a new referee.

Charles Robinson, who will turn 61 this week, hustled to the ring until he got body-checked by Cena.

Rollins and his goons attacked Cena, but Penta, Zayn, and eventually Punk evened the odds.

Rollins managed to clobber Punk with the briefcase, allowing Cena to retain the championship.

FAMILY TREE

Solo Sikoa captured the United States title from Jacob Fatu. That was the second night in a row that a “US title” changed hands in Saudi Arabia.

Fatu had too many Bloodline 3.0 members opposing him.

He fought off JC Mateo and Tonga Loa, but Hikuleo debuted and put Fatu through a table. Solo hit the Samoan Spike for the victory.

Hikuleo will be known as Tala Tonga, which can easily be confused with the injured Tama Tonga. All three “Tongas” are brothers, as they are the sons of Haku.

OTHER BOUTS

Sami Zayn defeated “the devil on his shoulder,” Karrion Kross, with a Heluva Kick.

Rhea Ripley beat Raquel Rodriguez in a street fight. They were both standing on a table on the top rope when Ripley hit a Riptide slam for the win.

Doesn’t that always happen in a street fight?
