Way Too Early Cleveland Browns 53-Man Roster Prediction 2.0

This week the Cleveland Browns released defensive end Ogbo Okoronkwo clearing space in an already crowded room. The team had attempted to redo is contract and Okoronkwo refused. Being unable to trade him, they released him to allow him to catch on with another team prior to training camp. They just weren’t going to pay him $6 million for 2025. Besides he was the oldest player in the position group and the Browns are trying to get younger. How does this effect the potential 53-man roster? Here’s my way too early look based on OTA’s and barring injuries. Keep in mind, Browns GM Andrew Berry could attempt to trade for players prior to the final cutdown day on August 27.

Quarterbacks (3). Kenny Pickett, Dillon Gabriel, Shedeur Sanders. After the first week of training camp the battle between Joe Flacco and Pickett should become apparent, right now I’m going Pickett.

Running backs (3). Quinshon Judkins, Dylan Sampson, Jerome Ford. Because of his contract restructure, Ford either makes the team or is traded.

Wide Receivers (6). Jerry Jeudy, Diontae Johnson, Cedric Tillman, Jarari Thrash, Deandre Carter, Michael Woods. David Bell and Thrash play primarily the slot position, so Thrash wins the job.

Tight Ends (3). David Njoku, Harold Fannin, Jr., Blake Whiteheart. Whiteheart could be bumped if a better player becomes available on cut down day.

Offensive Tackles (4). Jack Conklin, Dawand Jones, Cornelius Lucus, Jackson Barton. Set.

Offensive Guards (4). Joel Bitonio, Wyatt Teller, Teven Jenkins, Zak Zinter. Set.

Centers (2). Ethan Pocic, Luke Wypler. Set.

Defensive Tackles (5). Malik Collins, Shelby Harris, Michael Hall, Mason Graham, Jovon Biggs. Set.

Defensive Ends (5). Myles Garrett, Alex Wright, Isaiah McGuire, Joe Tryon-Shoyinka, Adin Huntington. Huntington had an impressive OTA’s. It’s either him or Julian Okwara, my money is on Huntington.

Linebackers (5). Jordan Hicks, Mohamoud Diabate, Carson Schwesinger, Jerome Baker, Devin Bush. Bush could be replaced by Winston Reid because of his special teams play.

Cornerbacks (5). Denzel Ward, Martin Emerson, Greg Newsome, Cameron Mitchel, Tony Brown. Newsome is a trade candidate and could be replaced by Myles Hardin.

Safeties (5). Grant Delpit, Ronnie Hickman, Rayshawn Jenkins, Damontae Kazee, Nik Needham. The key battle is between Hickman and Kazee. Either could be replaced by Chris Edmonds.

Kicker (1). Dustin Hopkins. Set.

Punter (1). Cory Bojorquez. Set.

Long Snapper (1). Rex Sunahara. Set.
