Top 5 Conference-USA QBs Heading into the 2025 College Football Season
The 2025 college football season is two months away and teams are beginning to round into form.
This includes the quarterback position, which remains the most important on the field regardless of conference.
Below, check out five quarterbacks to watch in Conference-USA this season.
5. Hunter Watson, Sam Houston State
Watson comes to Sam Houston State after a successful career at the Division II level. He spent time at Iowa Western CC where he was the starting quarterback for a team that won the NJCAA National Championship. The NJCAA All-American has played a lot of football and is now taking it up a notch in Conference-USA.
4. Maverick McIvor, Western Kentucky
McIvor will head to Western Kentucky after three productive seasons with Abilene Christian. He totaled 8,012 passing yards and 63 touchdowns with the Wildcats. He began his career at Texas Tech before transferring. Now, with plenty of experience, McIvor will take over Western Kentucky with high hopes for the offensive unit.
3. Keyone Jenkins, FIU
FIU finished with just four wins last season but Jenkins took a major step under center. He was second in the conference with 22 passing touchdowns and third with 2,557 passing yards. He proved to be an accurate and efficient passer within the offense.
2. Jacob Clark, Missouri State
Clark was a highly-touted recruit who landed at Minnesota to begin his career. He eventually made the move to Missouti State as the backup. In 2024, he turned in a record-setting year with 3,604 passing yards and 26 touchdowns. He led the conference in passing yards and total offense. Missouri State will now move to the FBS this season and should feel good at the quarterback position.
1. Nicholas Vattiato, Middle Tennessee State
Vattiato is back in 2025 for his third year as the starter for the Blue Raiders. He made six starts combined in his first two years before taking over as the full-time starter in 2023. Vattiato has played in every game since. Vattiato is the second quarterback in program history to log back-to-back 3,000-yard passing seasons. This experience within the same system is invaluable for a team, especially in the age of the transfer portal.
