Top 10 QBs in Big Ten for the 2025 College Football Season

The 2025 College Football season is just two months away and teams are beginning to take shape.

One of the top conferences in the nation is the Big Ten and many top quarterbacks will take the field to lead their teams.

For the most part, there are returners that will bring experience while some newcomers will look to make a name for themselves.

Below, check out the Top 10 quarterbacks for the Big Ten season.

10. Jayden Maiava, USC

Maiava is back for one more year as USC continues to search for answers at quarterback. Lincoln Riley now has a full offseason to work with Maiava as the starting quarterback after playing seven games last year — throwing 11 touchdowns to six interceptions.

9. Mark Gronowski, Iowa

Is Gronowski the quarterback that can finally make Iowa a respectable offensive team? The Hawkeyes landed Gronowski in the transfer portal after he won two national titles and was named Offensive Player of the Year in his Conference twice.

8. Nico Iamaleava, UCLA

Iamaleava struggled with Tennessee after entering the season with Heisman hopes. He landed at UCLA and the Bruins now have a five-star quarterback. This is a rebuilding program and Iamaleava should help. Will he? That is yet to be seen.

7. Bryce Underwood, Michigan

Michigan was among the worst passing games in the nation last year after winning the National Championship in 2023. Underwood is the No. 1 recruit in the 2025 class and set to take over the Wolverines. There is some questions about his size coming into the season but Underwood is as talented as any quarterback in the conference.

6. Fernando Mendoza, Indiana

Curt Cignetti went into the portal for a quarterback once again. After hitting on Kurtis Rourke last season, it is now time for Mendoza. He threw for over 3,000 yards last season and is expected to flourish under Cignetti.

5. Dylan Raiola, Nebraska

Raiola struggled with interceptions last season, throwing 11 as a true freshman. He is another former five-star in the Big Ten and came to Nebraska with high hopes. He did not live up to potential in year one but remains a top-flight quarterback due to his raw ability. Now, it is tie for Matt Rhule to put it all together.

4. Julian Sayin, Ohio State

It is hard not to like the Ohio State quarterback heading into the season. Jeremiah Smith and Carnell Tate are back on the outside. This is ideal for first-year starter Sayin, who is a five-star transfer from Alabama.

3. Luke Altmyer, Illinois

Altmyer gained plenty of attention this offseason as teams made big-money offers to try to get him. Altmyer decided to stay at Illinois and finish what he started. This makes the Illini a dark-horse for the College Football Playoff.

2. Dante Moore, Oregon

Moore got his feet wet at UCLA last season. He transferred to Oregon last year and got to sit behind Dillon Gabriel and learn Dan Lanning’s system. Now, Moore is ready to take over and be next in line for the Ducks.

1. Drew Allar, Penn State

Allar is the clear-cut No. 1 quarterback in the Big Ten and arguably none of the best in the nation. He is entering his third year as a starting quarterback and possesses all the tools necessary to be successful. Penn State is a National Title contender with Allar under center.
