Top 10 Quarterbacks Heading into 2025 College Football Season

The College Football season is still two months away but the top quarterbacks in the nation are already on display.

There are many elite quarterbacks preparing to enter the 2025 season and lead their teams to prominence.

Below, check out the top 10 quarterbacks for the 2025 season.

Top 10 College Football Quarterbacks

10. Carson Beck, Miami

This was a difficult decision, especially after the season that Beck put up last year. He is now in Miami with plenty to prove.

9. Sawyer Robertson, Baylor

Robertson might have the highest ceiling in the nation because of a bit of an unknown factor. This comes after a season where he eclipsed 3,000 passing yards and 23 touchdowns.

8. John Mateer, Oklahoma

Mateer is next in line in terms of dynamic quarterbacks at Oklahoma. He was one of the top transfers in the country this season coming out of Washington State. He is a true dual-threat that can break out further in the SEC.

7. DJ Lagway, Florida

Lagway is one of the best and most-exciting quarterbacks in the nation. He broke out as a freshman and there is plenty more for him to accomplish. The Gators added to the offensive line this offseason and it will only help the second-year starter.

6. Sam Leavitt, Arizona State

Arizona State was a breakout team last season under Kenny Dillingham. Leavitt emerged as a freshman into one of the top players in the Big 12. Now, he will be tasked with a bigger role thanks to some losses to the NFL but Leavitt seems ready for the added responsibility.

5. LaNorris Sellers, South Carolina

This ranking would not have been this high at this point last year. Sellers took massive steps forward last season, especially down the stretch helping South Carolina win its last six games. He scored 17 total touchdowns in those games.

4. Drew Allar, Penn State

Allar has become an acquired taste during his career. He has the size and arm strength to look like a first-round talent but also has the bone-headed tendencies of a freshman. So, what will 2025 look like? Tyler Warren is gone and Allar will need a new security blanket. As a third-year starter, the ceiling is high for Allar once again.

3. Arch Manning, Texas

It is now Manning time in Austin. After sitting for two years, Manning will make his long-awaited debut as the full-time starter. In a limited role last season, Manning showed off his athleticism using his legs along with a strong arm. Texas will look different with a new group of wide receivers and four new offensive lineman.

2. Garrett Nussmeier, LSU

Nussmeier is being viewed as a potential No. 1 pick in the 2026 NFL Draft. He has a very high ceiling with great potential at the next level. Nussmeier also struggles with consistency as turnovers can get in the way. Nonetheless, he is still a Heisman candidate.

1. Cade Klubnik, Clemson

Klubnik improved last season and helped Clemson win an ACC Championship. He improved tremendously in touchdowns and looked more comfortable within the offense. Returning as a third-year starter, Klubnik has a chance to be the top quarterback in the nation.
