AEW Dynamite: Will Ospreay, “Hangman” Adam Page Have a Wholesome Confrontation
Will Ospreay and “Hangman” Adam Page opened AEW Dynamite by talking about how much they were going to beat each other up on Sunday at the Double or Nothing pay-per-view.
Yet the conversation was so respectful that you expected them to have a drink together at the end … and they did!
Both men have the same goals: win the Owen Hart Foundation Cup and defeat Jon Moxley at All In Texas for the AEW World title.
Ospreay and Page talked about winning for their families and fans. Ospreay is also motivated by the idea of headlining Forbidden Door in England as the champion.
Mercedes Mone and Jamie Hayter had a similar conversation to preview their Owen Cup final. However, it turned into a brawl as you would expect.
MJF signed his contract to join The Hurt Syndicate. Dustin Rhodes & Sammy Guevara talked about their chances of winning the AEW tag team title from Bobby Lashley & Shelton Benjamin this weekend.
LESS TALK, MORE ACTION!
Swerve Strickland, Samoa Joe & Powerhouse Hobbs beat The Young Bucks & Jon Moxley in the opener when Swerve pinned Matt Jackson.
This was a preview of Anarchy in the Arena at the pay-per-view. Team AEW (Swerve, Hobbs, Joe, Katsuyori Shibata, Kenny Omega & Willow Nightingale) vs. The Young Bucks (Matt & Nick Jackson) and The Death Riders (Moxley, Wheeler Yuta, Claudio Castagnoli & Marina Shafir).
Ricochet defeated Anthony Bowens after attacking him with scissors and then hitting the Spirit Gun.
Mina Shirakawa defeated Julia Hart in the main event. Mina will challenge “Timeless” Toni Storm for the AEW women’s title at Double or Nothing.
AEW Collision will air tonight instead of Saturday. Elton John will have to open the show by singing “Thursday Night’s All Right for Fighting.”
